Thesis Writing

RESEARCH THESIS

We are a team of professionals who are quite specialized in providing all kinds of support to scholars during the whole process.

Thesis statement & its length

Every paper contains a main point, a main idea, or central message of your research. The argument(s) we make in your paper reflect this main idea. The sentence that captures your position on this main idea is what we call a thesis statement. How long does it need to be?

A thesis statement focuses your ideas into one or two sentences. It presents the topic of your paper and also make a comment about your position in relation to the topic. Your thesis statement tells your reader what the paper is about and also help guide your writing and keep your argument focused. A good and effective thesis could not be answered with a few a sentence, or a few chapters! A thesis is not a topic! It is not a fact. It is not an opinion either. A good thesis has two parts. It should tell what you plan to argue, and it should "telegraph" how you plan to argue—that is, what particular support for your claim is going where in your complete research work – which is told in a Thesis Book!

The concept of a Thesis

Thesis could mean something like presenting an opening argument. Let’s take a hypothetical example! Imagine the scenario of a courtroom and imagine yourself as a member of a jury, listening to a lawyer who is presenting an opening argument in the hearing. Most definitely you would want to know very soon whether the lawyer believes the accused to be guilty or not guilty, and how the lawyer plans to convince you. The Readers of academic thesis are much like a like jury members and they want to know what the THESIS argues as well as how the scholar plans to make the argument of his/her research work. After reading your thesis statement, the reader might think "This Thesis has some potential and is going to try to convince me of something. I'm not fully convinced yet, but I'm interested to see how I might be."

successful thesis statement

We avoid burying a great thesis statement in the middle of a paragraph or late in the paper. Be as clear and as specific as possible; avoid vague words. We indicate the point of your paper but avoid sentence structures like, “The point of my paper is…”. Your thesis statement should be as clear and specific as possible. Normally We will continue to refine your thesis as you revise your argument, so your thesis will evolve and gain definition as you obtain a better sense of where your argument is taking you. We provide a thesis early in your essay, in the introduction, or in longer essays in the second paragraph -- in order to establish your position and give your reader a sense of direction.

Steps in developing a Thesis

We analyse your primary sources. We look for tension, interest, ambiguity, controversy, and/or complication. Does the author contradict himself or herself? Is the point made & later reversed? The deeper implications of the author's argument! Figuring out the why to one or more of these questions, or to related questions, will put them on thesis development.

Once the structure thesis is okay, it is time to write it down. We keep your thesis prominent in your introduction. A good, standard place for your thesis statement is at the end of an introductory paragraph, especially in shorter version ( a few pages) essays. We then anticipate the counterarguments.
